Living in Madrid does not need to be synonymous with living in busy areas in the centre of town. As such, today we would like to discover with you why living in Alcalá de Henares might be the perfect option, where stages I and II of our Isla de Arosa project are fully underway.
The ‘city of knowledge’.
Located some 40 minutes away from the capital, Alcalá de Henares was given the status of a World Heritage site by UNESCO, and it was the birthplace of the illustrious Miguel de Cervantes, author of ‘Don Quixote’. It also hosts one of the most prestigious Universities in the country and the honorary headquarters of the Spanish Language Association.
It has areas enclosed by city walls, numerous monuments, and stately buildings which transport us through the length and breadth of its historic centre into the heart of the so-called Spanish Golden Age. The artistic and cultural atmosphere is something that can be felt in the atmosphere of the town: living in Alcalá de Henares is to live among theatres, such as the ‘Corral de Comedias’ (one of the most famous in the world), museums, and art exhibitions. There is always something to discover!
Perfect communication with Madrid.
Alcalá de Henares is perfectly connected with Madrid, as well as with other towns in the region.
Public transport:
Bus: There are 4 bus routes that link directly with Madrid, specifically the 223, 227, 229, and 824. In addition, there are a further 14 routes in the town which link to 30 other towns such as Guadalajara or Torrejón de Ardoz, amongst others.
Meanwhile, in order to get around the town itself, there are 12 routes which link the various different areas of Alcalá.
Train: There are 3 stations which link with Madrid lines C2 and C7: Alcalá de Henares, Alcalá de Henares Universidad, and La Garena, just 5 minutes from our Isla de Arosa project.
Airport: The Madrid-Barajas international airport is just 15 kilometres from the city, and can be reached in just 10 minutes by road.
